A pioneer of indeterminacy in music, electroacoustic music, and non-standard use of musical instruments, Cage was one of the leading figures of the post-war avant-garde. Critics have lauded him as one of the most influential American composers of the 20th century.<\/p>\n<p><i><b>Williams Mix<\/b><\/i>\u00a0(1951\u20131953) is a 4&#8217;15&#8220;\u00a0electronic\u00a0composition\u00a0by\u00a0John Cage\u00a0for eight simultaneously played independent quarter-inch\u00a0magnetic tapes.
